Usually at Grand Get-togethers we cater for your large celebrations in our three properties however we also like to do our bit for charity by hosting events for Marie Curie, a cause close to our hearts. Marie Curie are a charity that touch the lives of many people in the UK by providing expert care, guidance and support to those living with a terminal illness and their families.
Last weekend we held a Barn Dance at Westfield Farm raising over £7000 with donations still coming in. The night was a roaring success with a flowing bar, fantastic live music from two local bands, a rodeo bull and bouncy castle with optional camping as well as a competition for the best dressed and a raffle. Even the guests from Westfield Granary and The Yard supported the event which we are extremely grateful for with one of the Hen Party guests from Westfield winning best dressed cowboy.
The raffle had an assortment of kindly donated prizes including a Christmas turkey, food hampers, wine, and a variety of vouchers with first prize being 'A midweek break at one of our Grand Get-Togethers properties'. I look forward to hearing from the lucky winners to organise their stay with us. We will hopefully be holding a similar event next year so keep your eyes peeled for future announcements, maybe you would like to coincide your visit to Grand Get-Togethers with our annual fundraiser making your holiday truly unique.
We could not host events like this without the help and support of family and friends. One business I would like to thank in particular, as I know many guests will be interested in their products, is Trotters. They kindly donated the trailer for the hog roast and a pig which was superb. Trotters offer a selection of quality produce in their farm shop only one mile from the properties just on the outskirts of Sherburn. I would highly recommend a visit to their shop where you can pick up a range of delights for your stay.
Thank you once again to all of our followers old and new for their generous donations and support they do not go unnoticed.
